What to do when there’s nothing to do
by Christina jones & eniyah Byrd August 9th, 2019
Plans fell through? Nothing to wear? Not invited? It’s cool, we’ve all been there. Now you’re home on this great night with nothing to do. Don’t trip! Here’s 7 things to fill your night with some well needed self-care and fun!
Rearrange/ Decorate Your Room
Why put your creativity to rest, when you could let it run rampant all summer 2k19? By doing something as small as rearranging your room, you are encouraging the uniqueness that you were born with, and you’re finding a dope way to past the time! If you need some inspo, here is a link to some creative ways to spice up your room! https://youtu.be/f59LkNCzd6s
2. Have A Dance Party With Yourself
As teenagers, we tend to veer more towards music these days. Why just listen to the music, when we can get in on the song? It may sound crazy, but you can entertain yourself by making a playlist of your favorite songs and taking some time to just dance to them. This is a great way to get active and to have a good laugh!
3. Learn Something New About Yourself
Take an online personality test, IQ test, or anything else that will teach you something new about yourself. The better you know you, the better you love and treat yourself and others.
4. Cook something!
Don’t just go in the kitchen and throw something quick together. Nahhh, it’s levels to this! First things first, find some tunes to blast. {Looking for some summer bangers? Click here to listen to our Summer Jams playlist.} After you’ve set the vibe, figure out what you’re gonna cook. Pintrest will tell you what you’re in the mood for, trust me! Alright, now you’re ready to get in the kitchen and get that wrist twistin’ like it’s stir fry! Don’t forget to fulfill your social duties of documenting the entire process on all your SM platforms. Cause did you really do it if you didn’t post it?!
5. Find something to watch
Relax for a while, and enjoy your favorite movies & Netflix/hulu shows! It is so important for us to allow ourselves to rest in knowing that God has everything under control, and we can just enjoy life. Sit back, relax and enjoy your favorite snacks! and Don’t forget to silence your phone.
6. Create Something
Whether you write, paint/draw, or you’re a photographer/videographer or anything else you deem creative, take this time and do it! There’s no pressure to produce a perfect work, it’s just you, your craft, and free time. Something beautiful is bound to come out of that combination!
Learn To Enjoy Yourself
7. As we conclude this list, we know that one of the most important things you can do this summer is learn to enjoy who God made you to be. God made you unique, so have fun discovering all of the facets of you!
