Harmony Tips: for students

  1.  Clean up your space.  I love working in a clean organized space.  I like to keep my room clean so I can relax and feel motivated while I  do my school work.  It also helps me avoid losing things.

  2. Buy nice writing utensils.  I love gel pens and nice mechanical pencils.  It really motivates me to turn in neat work.

  3.  Exercise.  This summer my sister and I started jogging every morning together.  It really helps me focus and relax when I start my day  with exercise.

  4. Have Fun.  Due to covid a lot of my "usual fun" was canceled BUT I have learned other things that I can do that are just as fun throughout the day.  I like to Rollerblade, Face-time my friends and cousins, play basketball with my siblings and make family vlogs on my phone.

  5. Help.  I love finding new recipes online and cooking them for my family.  I also enjoy teaching and playing with my younger brothers and sisters.

  6. Switch up your learning space.  I try to find quiet places all over my house to do school work.  When the weather is nice I also like sitting on the deck and working.

Tiffany Tips: for Parents

  1. Before you do anything: PRAY!!! The holy spirit will lead and guide you as you educate your children. Joshua 1:9

  2.  Get What You Need: Do you need to order books or purchase supplies? Get prepared now.

  3.  Decorate.  Dedicate a space for learning.  Even if you don't have a "home-school room" decorate a home-school corner or a wall for learning.  A well thought out, fun space makes learning enjoyable and exciting.  Google home-school spaces/rooms to get some cool ideas.

  4.  Rewards.  Rewards are a good motivation for a job well done.  Dollar tree treats and toys go a long way for young learners.  Use age appropriate motivation for learners to get the job done....Well!

  5.  Rest.  Nobody wants a moody/angry teacher.  Take time to make sure that's not you😉

  6.  Downtime activities.  Have cross word puzzles, word searches, coloring books, board-games etc. available when you need time to get other things done.  It helps you avoid too much screen-time.

  7.  Meal Prep.  Plan your meals out so you can avoid those last minute runs to the grocery store.  I write and post a dinner menu.  It's one less thing to worry about during the week.

  8.  Teamwork.  There is nothing like "Real Life" Home Economics. Work as a team to cook and do housework at scheduled times throughout the day.

  9. Stop.  Do not burn your kids or yourself out.  It's ok to stop and pick up later or the next day.

  10. Have Fun!  Enjoy those kids.  You are literally making life-long memories everyday together.
